Abstract

This study examines the Islamization of psychology as a scientific paradigm through the dialectical integration of revelation, reason, and empirical reality in the development of psychological knowledge. Using a library research approach with an epistemological reconstruction orientation, the study critically analyzes literature on modern psychology, Islamic psychology, philosophy of science, and Islamic epistemology. Content analysis, philosophical-critical analysis, and dialectical synthesis are employed to identify the epistemological assumptions underlying psychological science and to reconstruct an integrative framework. The findings indicate that Islamization of psychology should not be understood merely as the incorporation of Islamic concepts into Western psychological theories, but as a reconstruction of the epistemological foundations of psychology. Revelation (naql) provides ontological and axiological foundations concerning human nature, purpose, morality, and values; reason ('aql) develops these principles into coherent theoretical and conceptual frameworks; while empirical reality (tajribah) serves to test, develop, and contextualize psychological theories. The study proposes a dialectical model in which these three sources of knowledge interact continuously and complementarily. This model expands the epistemological scope of contemporary psychology by integrating biological, psychological, social, moral, and spiritual dimensions. The study concludes that Islamization of psychology offers a holistic and contextual paradigm that maintains scientific rigor while incorporating ethical, spiritual, and humanistic orientations. Further empirical research is needed to operationalize and validate the proposed model.
