Conflict of Interest

Al-Mubtadi: Jurnal Pendidikan Guru Madrasah Ibtidaiyah is committed to maintaining transparency, objectivity, and integrity throughout the scholarly publishing process. All authors, reviewers, and editors are required to disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest that could influence, or appear to influence, the research, peer-review process, editorial decisions, or publication of an article.

1. Definition of Conflict of Interest

A conflict of interest occurs when personal, financial, professional, academic, or other relationships may improperly influence an individual's judgment or responsibilities in the publication process. Such conflicts may include, but are not limited to, financial relationships, employment, consultancies, personal relationships, academic competition, institutional affiliations, or other interests that could affect impartiality.

2. Responsibilities of Authors

Authors must disclose all relevant conflicts of interest when submitting a manuscript. They should identify any financial support, institutional relationships, personal interests, or other circumstances that could influence the research design, data collection, analysis, interpretation, or reporting of findings.

If no conflict of interest exists, authors should include the following statement in their manuscript:

“The authors declare that there is no conflict of interest regarding the publication of this article.”

Authors must also disclose relevant funding sources and the role of funders in the research, where applicable.

3. Responsibilities of Reviewers

Reviewers must disclose any circumstances that could compromise their ability to provide an objective and impartial assessment of a manuscript. These circumstances may include personal relationships with the authors, institutional affiliations, professional competition, collaborative research, or financial interests.

Reviewers who identify a potential conflict of interest must notify the editor promptly and, where necessary, decline the review assignment.

4. Responsibilities of Editors

Editors must make editorial decisions based on the manuscript's academic quality, relevance, originality, and compliance with the journal's publication ethics policies. Editors must disclose any conflict of interest that could affect their impartiality and withdraw from handling a manuscript when appropriate.

In such cases, the manuscript will be assigned to another qualified editor who can make an independent decision. Editors must not use unpublished information obtained through the editorial process for personal or professional advantage.

5. Management of Conflicts of Interest

All disclosed conflicts of interest will be evaluated by the editorial team. When necessary, the journal may request additional clarification, reassign a reviewer or editor, require further disclosure, or take other appropriate measures to protect the integrity of the publication process.

Failure to disclose a relevant conflict of interest may result in additional review, rejection of a manuscript, publication of a correction, or other appropriate action in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies.

6. Transparency and Publication

Relevant conflict-of-interest disclosures will be handled transparently and may be published alongside the article when appropriate. The journal will seek to ensure that disclosed conflicts are managed fairly and do not undermine the credibility of the research or the editorial process.

Al-Mubtadi is committed to handling conflicts of interest responsibly to maintain trust, fairness, and academic integrity in scholarly publishing.
