Correction and Retraction

Al-Mubtadi: Jurnal Pendidikan Guru Madrasah Ibtidaiyah is committed to maintaining the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of the scholarly record. When errors or ethical concerns are identified in a published article, the journal will assess the matter carefully and take appropriate action in accordance with recognized publication ethics principles.

1. Corrections

A correction may be issued when an error is identified in a published article and the error affects the accuracy, clarity, or completeness of the publication but does not invalidate its main findings or conclusions.

Corrections may address errors in text, author information, affiliations, figures, tables, references, or other published content. The editorial team will evaluate the nature and significance of the error and determine whether a formal correction is necessary.

When a correction is published, it will clearly identify the original article and explain the changes made. The correction notice will be linked to the original article whenever technically feasible.

2. Retractions

Retraction may be considered when serious concerns undermine the reliability or integrity of a published article. Grounds for retraction may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Fabrication or falsification of research data or results.

  2. Plagiarism or substantial unattributed use of another person's work.

  3. Duplicate or redundant publication that significantly compromises the originality of the scholarly record.

  4. Serious errors that invalidate the principal findings or conclusions.

  5. Unethical research practices or significant violations of research ethics.

  6. Proven manipulation of the publication or peer-review process.

  7. Other serious forms of misconduct that undermine the reliability of the article.

Retraction will be considered based on the available evidence and the seriousness of the concern. An allegation alone will not automatically result in retraction.

3. Retraction Procedure

When a potential reason for retraction is identified, the editorial team will conduct an initial assessment and, where appropriate, request explanations or supporting documentation from the authors and other relevant parties.

The journal may consult independent experts, the authors' affiliated institutions, or relevant research ethics bodies when necessary. The parties concerned will be given a reasonable opportunity to respond, consistent with the need to protect the integrity of the scholarly record.

The final decision will be made by the editor or an appropriately authorized editorial representative based on the evidence and the journal's publication ethics policies.

4. Retraction Notices and Article Availability

When an article is retracted, the journal will publish a retraction notice explaining the reason for the retraction to the extent possible while respecting confidentiality and applicable legal requirements.

The retraction notice will be linked to the original article whenever technically feasible. The original article will generally remain accessible with a clear retracted status to preserve the scholarly record, unless legal requirements or exceptional circumstances necessitate another approach.

5. Expressions of Concern

If serious concerns arise but the available evidence is insufficient to reach a final decision, the journal may publish an expression of concern where appropriate. The expression of concern may be updated when further information or an investigation outcome becomes available.

6. Responsibilities of Authors and Editors

Authors are expected to notify the editorial team promptly if they discover a significant error in their published work and to cooperate with any assessment or investigation.

Editors are responsible for assessing reported errors and concerns fairly, objectively, and confidentially. Decisions regarding corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions will be based on the available evidence and the seriousness of the issue, without undue influence from personal, institutional, or commercial interests.

7. Transparency and Record Keeping

The journal will maintain appropriate records of decisions and actions concerning corrections, expressions of concern, and retractions. Relevant notices will be made accessible and linked to the original publication whenever feasible.

Al-Mubtadi is committed to addressing publication errors and ethical concerns responsibly to protect readers, authors, and the integrity of the scholarly record.
